I am a 45 year old college graduate, a writer and a film producer. I like to think of myself as an independent thinker, and as such, I have a general distrust and dislike of most doctors. Usually I go to them only as a last resort.
I visited Dr. Daiter because I was having a troubling gynecological problem: irregular bleeding to be exact. Previous to seeing Dr. Daiter, I had been to another doctor highly recommended to me. This other doctor strongly advised me to have a very expensive operation (a $7,000 surgery) to address my problem. I was aghast and felt that this doctor was nothing but a mercenary and although I was very scared, I was determined to get a second opinion.
I found Dr. Daiter through his impressive website. I tend to be fairly intuitive and, having a gut feeling that he could help me, I made an appointment with him. On the day of my appointment I met Dr. Daiter in office at exactly the appointed time. Dr. Daiter sat me down and explained to me the nature of my problem. I remember being very impressed at the time because he took as much time as was necessary to thoroughly explain to me every aspect of my problem, drawing diagrams on a piece of paper, and doing whatever was necessary for me to understand what was going on with my body. It has been my experience that most doctors are extremely arrogant, and trying to glean any information from them (about a body that belongs to me) is like trying to extract blood from a rock. Not only did Dr. Daiter thoroughly discuss my problem with me, he took about an hour and a half to do so. Again, most doctors just do a diagnosis in as short a time as possible, and God forbid you should have any questions about any of it.
Dr. Daiter suggested a simple procedure (the cost of which was less than 1/10 the price of a hysteroscopy) and not only that, he told me that if I wanted to, he could perform it right then and there. Knowing at that point that I was in extremely competent hands, I quickly agreed to the procedure.
The procedure was performed with a minimum of fuss and I left feeling very relieved and my faith in doctors having been restored. Although I spend over two hours at his office that afternoon, I was charged only the cost of a standard office visit as well as for the procedure itself.
In dealing with me, Dr. Daiter was so kind, obviously so extremely bright, and so concerned, compassionate and committed, that to my mind he represents the very best of his profession.
The other thing that I remember is that I had just begun a new health insurance program and there was a minor glitch with regard to that which Dr. Daiter was extremely gracious and accommodating about.
Dr. Daiter's correct diagnosis and subsequent treatment of my problem was 100% successful; I have not experienced any further troubling symptoms of that problem.
I was so impressed by Dr. Daiter that I made a point to contact all of my female friends about him, regardless of whether they were happy with their present gynecologist or not.
